Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
The price on the listing is the price you pay — we add no booking fee on top. What you pay online depends on the operator’s payment setup: either the whole trip, prepaid at checkout (charged on the operator’s own payment account — they are the merchant for it), or a 10% reservation deposit that counts toward your rental, with the balance paid to the operator at delivery. The refund rules below apply to whichever you paid.
If the operator cancels, declines — or never answers
You get everything back. If an operator cancels or declines your request, everything you paid online — full prepayment or deposit — is refunded in full. This applies no matter how close to your dates it happens. And if your booking was a request, your card was only held, never charged: a decline releases the hold, and a request that goes unanswered for the response window — up to 24 hours, less for last-minute rentals, where the operator must respond before the rental start — is declined automatically with the hold released. You are never charged for a rental that was never accepted.
If you cancel before the cancellation window
Every operator sets one cancellation window — a number of days before the rental start — and it’s shown on the listing and your confirmation before you book. Cancel before the window begins and everything you paid online is refunded in full, whether that was the whole trip or just the deposit.
If you cancel inside the window, or don’t show
- If you paid a reservation deposit, it is forfeited to the operator under the cancellation policy shown on their listing. We pass the full deposit to the operator and keep none of it — a late cancellation earns CartBooker nothing. If you believe a forfeiture is wrong, email support@cartbooker.com within 14 days and we’ll review it before the money is paid out.
- If you prepaid the whole trip, any refund is the operator’s decision, under the cancellation terms shown on their listing. The rental was charged on the operator’s own account, so any refund of it comes from the operator.
Weather
Operators on Florida’s Gulf Coast deal with weather constantly. If your operator cancels for weather or safety, their own cancellation policy applies: refund, reschedule, or credit is the operator’s call, shown on their listing and handled by them directly. You pay the operator, so any refund comes from the operator to your card. CartBooker releases your dates and does not charge you anything for the cancellation.
How refunds arrive
Card refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. A released card hold isn’t a refund — nothing was charged — but it can take your bank a few days to make the hold disappear from your statement. If a refund you’re owed hasn’t appeared, email support@cartbooker.com with your booking reference and we’ll chase it.
Where this fits
This policy is part of our Terms of Service (see “Cancellations, changes & refunds”). Your rental agreement with the operator is separate and shown at their handover. Bookings made before this pricing model took effect keep the payment and refund terms shown when they were made — your confirmation page and emails state them.
